Big boy - 17 months!

At 17 months, Blake has been telling us that he wants to be a "big boy." He clambers to get into Elizabeth's chair at dinner (inciting riot on her part- LOL), uses a spoon and fork at dinner table, and does NOT want to be carried around the grocery store or other public places any more --- he wants to walk by HIMSELF, thank you very much!

Although he thinks he is a big boy - we just got in from his 15 month appointment (yes two months late because of some ear infections and concerns about getting vaccines when he was ill) - he is still just a little peanut.

He weighs in at 22.8 pounds, which puts him at 10th percentile for height --- he is also 10th percentile for height, but since Elizabeth came to the appointment, and was chatting through out, I didn't catch his latest heighth.

Blake is SO social - telling passersby "Hiiiii" and even blowing kisses. He loves to give mommy and daddy kisses on the face and lips, which of course melts my heart.

He is a little "helper" often running to bring Elizabeth her shoes, or helping me make my bed in the morning, by bringing me my throw pillows.

All that sweetness helps make up for some of his crazy nighttime sleep habits (teething makes him VERY grumpy... lots of 3 am wake-up calls lately!).

Favorite words are still:
Hiiii
BALL
Up!
Buddy
Mama
Dada
Nana

Elizabeth made me laugh at the doctor visit - because in typical big sister fashion - she wanted him to perform and show his skills. When the doctor asked how many words he had, Elizabeth had to jump in with, "Say BALL, Blake!" "BALL!"

Our pediatrician pronounced them both "beautiful" and was very pleased. We agree!

More photos to come, along with an update on Princess Elizabeth.
