She is getting more and more verbal each day. Whenever we drive somewhere, we can hear her little voice singing in the backseat. The other day we heard "ABCD....Eeeeeee!" Or sometimes she'll exclaim "Happy, happy," when trying to sing "If you're happy and you know it." She is really good at doing all of the hand motions for each of the songs, including "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "Where is Thumbkin?"
Yesterday we went swimming at Nana's and Papa's, the first time she's been in a pool since last summer, and she had a blast! By the end of the session, she was "jumping" into the pool to Aunt Annie after saying "One, two three!" (I'd forgotten my swimsuit)! Elizabeth had a huge grin on her face; she was so proud of her new accomplishment.
Elizabeth also saw a newborn baby this weekend and did NOT like seeing mommy holding another baby. She hid her face in Justin's shoulder, but became more curious when I changed his diaper. The baby was only about 5lbs, and smaller than Elizabeth's dolls, so she was very confused!
I was telling Elizabeth's Sunday School teacher about the experience with the newborn, and the teacher said she was very surprised, because Elizabeth loves the classroom dolls, and also is very "motherly" in class with the other students. "If someone drops their hairbow or shoe, or is upset, Elizabeth always makes sure I am aware of it." Ha!
