Six months

Blake just celebrated his seventh month (and marked the occasion by stealing a slurp of Elizabeth's popsicle, smile).

He continues to be the cutest and sweetest baby boy ever!

But let me back up a bit, by telling you about his sixth month!

Here he is on the evening of his first official 'solid food.' He'd been eyeing our dinners for weeks on end, and when he was a week shy of six months we introduced some baby oatmeal to him.

He dove in and hasn't looked back since. If we dare to eat without him, he starts 'vocalizing' quite loudly til his baby food appears.
He loves his big sister and his face simply lights up when she enters the room. She adores him as well, and is quite protective of him.

Mr. Blue-Eyes

At his six month doctor check up, Blake was 16 lbs, 6 oz, and he measured in the 75th percentile for head circumference, and 50th percentile for his heighth.

He can say "DaDa" and is 'talking' quite a bit! And at the end of six months he started scooting across the carpet at an alarming rate. If he spies a toy he wants, it's only a matter of time before he has it in hand.

And with Blake's six month birthday, Elizabeth moved into the 3 1/2 year old phase. She seems like such a big girl to us now. She loves helping mommy around the house, and has been enjoying using the camera from Aunt Annie and Uncle Kyle. I will have to devote a separate post to all her photos. Some of them make us laugh so hard we cry. Here she is at a party a few weeks ago, having the time of her life. (She also circulated at the party, with our camera, and took approximately 50 pictures. We all look like giants when the photographer is 3 feet tall and photographing us from her vantage point.)

And speaking of Aunt Annie and Uncle Kyle, we welcomed their little princess Lydia Susanne into the world much earlier than expected on February 20th. It was quite a shock for everyone, most especially Aunt Annie! But we are so thrilled to see the power of prayer at work. Lydia is doing very well in the NICU, and we can't wait for her to come home soon.

And two days after Lydia was born, Aunt Aimee and Uncle Sean welcomed their little girl Rylan Grace, so we have been having fun with all of the new babies!

As you can see, Blake's six month was a busy one in our household! We are hoping for a calmer seventh month! :-)
