The photos above and below were taken the morning of September 2. She knew it was her birthday (and she's been wanting to celebrate it over and over again over the past two weeks!)
The only downside of a birthday when you are "2" is the doctor visit that comes with it! Poor Miss E had to go in for a visit earlier this week.
The doctor started asking me about how many words Elizabeth can say, but stopped when Elizabeth loudly said "that's an octopus!" pointing at a photo on the wall. Ahem!
Elizabeth weighed in at 27 lbs and 35 inches tall, which is 80th percentile for both. I think her head is in the 73rd percentile. I wasn't able to listen as closely as normal because my little monkey kept trying to leap off the examining table, or climb on to the doctor's stool. (Why are there so many sharp edges at a baby doctor's office? LOL)
The doctor also thought Elizabeth was probably ready to move into a toddler bed, but I don't know if we are ready for that yet!
In other Elizabeth news, she is still talking and talking. Now she can speak clearly enough to embarass us a little bit in public. The other night we were out to eat, and a man in a wheelchair (clearly he'd been in some awful car accident or something) was wheeled past our table. Not missing a beat, Elizabeth threw her arms in the air and asked, "Oh no! What happened?!"
Later that evening, she pointed out a woman and said, "Like (her) hair!" (The woman did have very pretty highlights!)
I have a feeling this is the first of many little public comments. So funny!
