I can't believe that our itty bitty baby girl will be TWO as of tomorrow, September 2. We celebrated her birthday this weekend with family and a few of her toddler "fwens." The theme was "Yo Gabba Gabba," her favorite TV show. Aunt Annie baked and decorated a gorgeous homemade "Gabba" cake, complete with all the characters on top.
As you can see below, the balloons were also a huge hit! (She pronounces them "be-yunes!")
(This picture below was actually taken at the end of the evening as Grandmother Jean is showing Elizabeth the quilt that her mother had made for her.) The butterflies are from dresses Grandmother wore as a baby. Now it is Elizabeth Jean's! How precious to have this family heirloom! And, Elizabeth loves butterflies!
Practicing "blowing out the candles" with Aunt Annie.
More fun with balloons.
"I love my auntie!"
Officially blowing out the candles, with a little help from mom and dad.
Singing "Ring around the Rosies" with friends Stephan and Sophia. She loved wearing her "princess" dress, and started twirling the minute we put it on her.
"At the end of a long day!" It's hard work to be a birthday girl!!
The two shots below are from the *beginning* of the day, when Elizabeth discovered the dollhouse that Papa made for her. She couldn't believe what she found hiding in daddy's office! The dollhouse has six rooms and an attic, and came with several "rooms" of furniture and a Calico Critters bunny family. She will have so much fun with it now, and in the years to come! Thank you, Papa! I know it took weeks to build it!
