18 month check-up!

Elizabeth had her 18 month check up today, and all is well.

We love our pediatrician, who spends so much time with us during visits and does not rush us along.

Elizabeth is in the 95th percentile for weight---29 pounds! Considering that the scale showed 26 pounds right before the tubes were put in, that would mean she's gained 3 pounds in a month's time?! that would be almost a 10 percent weight gain. So, surely one of the scales was "off." She is also in the 95th percentile for height, and 75th percentile for her head circumference.

Elizabeth's baby doll came along with us for the doctor visit, and E. spent a lot of time patting and "shushing" the baby and putting baby "night night," which the doctor loved.

The doctor noticed Elizabeth gripping her diaper during part of the visit and thought it might be worth a try to put her on a "little potty" to see what she would do. She called Elizabeth "precocious" and said she might join a few other little girls at the practice who were potty-trained before age 2. As the doctor walked out the door, Elizabeth yelled "bye bye" and blew her a kiss. Aww!

Tomorrow morning we are getting Elizabeth's 18 month portraits made, and then later in the day we are going to have a family FUN day.... Visiting a miniature animal farm, and then ICE- CREAM! (Have you heard that Bruster's ice-cream is giving away a free ice-cream cone if you wear your PJs?)
