Tonight we grabbed a little bite to eat at a local southern 'diner.' Elizabeth grabbed ahold of my mug of sweet tea, and declared "YUM!" I guess we have a little southerner in the making (see last post about her new love of black-eyed peas). I know they call it the "champagne of the south," so sweet tea is not on the menu for 16 month olds.
Speaking of sweets...
We celebrated Grandma Mac's birthday this weekend as well, and Elizabeth somehow remembered that birthday cake tastes GOOD. I think the last cake she ate was at HER own birthday party in early September. I have no idea that she remembered what a cake even WAS...but as we were walking into Mimi's she spotted the iced, swirly cake and again declared "YUMmmm!" (Pointing urgently, I might add, as in "Please let me take a bite NOW!"
Her other new word is "hot," usually used to point at food we're eating for dinner, or food she REALLY wants to eat right away!
