We are now entering the "teens," since Elizabeth is 13 months old today!
Wow!
It seems like she is becoming more and more independent each day, and doing so many cute little things that make us laugh. What did we ever do without this little girl?
Running! With her new shoes on, she can RUN! Somehow the extra traction speeds up those little tootsies and she is careening and running everywhere around the house now, especially if she spies the dog food bowl and wants to "explore."
Dancing! Elizabeth loves music and dancing. She ran over and turned up the volume on the CD player last night and started rolling her shoulders and shaking her hips, laughing as she did it. Last weekend we were at a local fall festival, and she loved the local music, and danced there, too, much to the amusement of the families around us. I think she will definitely love ballet and tap dancing classes one day.
Hugging! She has been very affectionate lately, giving lots of hugs and kisses.
And a little bit of sass! If we take away something from her (ie, when she is sloshing her sippy cup out onto the carpet, she will definitely let us know her displeasure.
New car seat. Elizabeth's new car seat came in the mail yesteday and she LOVES it. It is so comfortable, and is yellow with pink butterflies on it. As soon as it was unwrapped, she squealed and tried to climb in! Not exactly the reaction I was expecting, but I am glad she likes it! She is still rear facing, as that is the new recommendation. (I was really surprised to read articles like this. Who'd have thought? http://www.celebrity-babies.com/2008/04/rearfacing-car.html and
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9916868 ) and finally- http://www.cpsafety.com/articles/stayrearfacing.aspx
We're also working on giving up our bottles, we'll see how this goes. I just don't have the heart to do it 'cold turkey.' She loves, loves loves her bottles, and while she is fine with drinking out of her sippy cup, the bottle remains her first love :-)
More pics to come (my hard drive CRASHED last week), and I am awaiting my new computer so that I can start uploading pics to that one instead.
